“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I have been listening to my Mother’s wisdom more often now than I ever did, while I was living India. ” Practice patience Radhika….” is the most often heard advice, from my Mother in all those years, of growing up back in India. I admit I was very stubborn and on top it I had bad temper. I found “practicing patience” as a very profound and powerful advice works well for me.
While I say the same words “Practice some patience Himmi/ Johnny” to my boys, I often find it funny and I can’t control laughing. I sound so much like my Mother when I do that 🙂 I have cultivated more patience in these past few years living as an immigrant away from home and Mom than I have ever been. I surely do believe practicing patience and meditation has given me to be so much more peaceful, content and happy right here and right now. Anyways I just wanted to share my thoughts as I was thinking about “Mother’s day”. Happy Mother’s day every one!
Patience is the mark of true love. A father has to be patient in order to show his love for his son or daughter. A mother, a son, and a daughter also. If you want to love, you must learn to be patient. If you are not patient, you cannot help the other person. -Thich Nhat Han.
Happy Mother’s Day! Your mother had beautiful advice.:)
