A peaceful day

As Helen Keller says “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, or even touched. They must be felt with the heart”.  Have you ever felt and had a peaceful day when at the end of the day, you say out loud what a peaceful day it was thank you Almighty? Yesterday was somewhat like that.

It started off just like any other normal day until mid afternoon when my friend visited us and finally our children  meet and got to know each other better. My special friend and I see God outside of our religions, in love, in non- violence and peace precisely.

So, how do you make a ten-year old and a seven-year old to get comfortable and talk? Well!  We decided our kids make cup cakes. I stood there watching young lady Ms Zeenat and Johnny backing cupcakes while us, Mom’s catching up on career and such. It felt so surreal, twenty years ago I would have never imagined that I would meet a mother across from the border with similar idealism and become friends with her. Here I was with this lovely family, and our children having a good time in my kitchen.

While world news all across America talks about growing tension between Iran and Israel, two mothers here can demonstrate it is possible to love, find peace in a simple way, away from politics like two simple human beings.  Mothers are very powerful teachers and have an opportunity  to teach, demonstrate  peace, non violence and love for humanity every day in our simple life to help our boys to make wise choices when they grow up to be strong Men. We cannot think in isolation as a country we must have a one world as a whole view. As Holiness  Dalai Lama says here  “In today’s deeply interdependent world, war is outdated and illogical. All regions, and all people’s, are interconnected environmentally, economically, and politically. War, oppression or civil strife in one area inevitably affects people in other parts of the world. We are all, by nature, clearly oriented toward the basic human values of love and compassion. We all prefer the love of others to their hatred. We all prefer others’ generosity to meanness. And who is there among us who does not prefer tolerance, respect and forgiveness of our failings to bigotry, disrespect, and resentment?”

I went to bed early with Peace and love in my heart asking God Almighty to bring peace on earth and no more wars.
